Hector (or “Ian” to those close to him) Gutierrez’s entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 21 when he co-founded a popular Miami restaurant, named OYE, that quickly gained a cult following. His innovative vision, uncompromising commitment to quality, and business acumen allowed him to bring life a unique concept centered around his heritage as a Cuban-American. After exiting the venture, Hector continued to pursue his passions in the hospitality industry by working for the Burger King Corporation, where he traveled the world supporting franchisees with their operations.
Witnessing the rise in “better for you” foods, Hector turned his focus towards plant based ventures, joining Jugofresh, a fast-growing, cold-pressed juice concept. Spearheading Jugofresh’s operations, Hector lead store growth from 2 locations to 14 and a regional partnership with Whole Foods Market.
With an unwavering passion for creating exceptional products and experiences, Hector co-founded JOI in 2018. Under his strategic leadership as CEO, the company has disrupted the industry, introducing one-of-a-kind, better-for-you foods. Hector's ability to anticipate consumer trends, coupled with his relentless drive for excellence, has propelled JOI to become a multi-million dollar brand in just five years.
